Nigeria hold Sweden to 3 - 3 draw at FIFA Women's World Cup

The Super Falcons of Nigeria last night held their Swedish counterparts to a 3-all draw. The falcons started up strong putting up pressure on their opponents but were unlucky to concede an own goal from Desire Oparanozie in the 20th min. The Swedes added another in the 31st minutes through Nilla Fischer after a corner was poorly cleared, 2 - 0 the first half ended in favour of the Swedes. The falcons started the second half even stronger and
in the 50th minute, Ngozi Okobi pulled one back for the Falcons, three minutes later is was 2 - 2, and it was none other, Asisat Oshoala, the golden shoe winner at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 opened her account for this tournament with a fine individual effort after a well-played long ball from Onome Ebi. Sembrant handed the lead back to Sweden after good build-up play on the left side resulted in Lina Nilsson’s cross that the substitute managed to direct past Precious Dede with her thigh. However, Francisca Ordega salvaged a point for the Super Falcons three minutes from time with a shot that managed to slip through the legs of Lindahl, leaving the two sides tied at 3-3. The Falcons will next face Australia on June 12 by 10:00PM Nigerian time.
