The new official residences for the Senate president, the deputy Senate president, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and his deputy are sandwiched between the Supreme Court, the National
Assembly, National Arcade and the office of the National Security Adviser, all inside the exclusive Three Arms Zone in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.
The upgraded residences are being built by construction giants, Julius Berger Nigeria Limited. Their cost is estimated at N27.1 billion, upon completion.
Each residential compound comprises a five-bedroom main building with a swimming pool and lawn tennis court, three-bedroom residence for ADC, three-bedroom guest house, four-bedroom staff quarters and a gate house. There are common facilities such as chapel, mosque, banquet hall, general gate house and utilities. The Senate president’s house has both staircase and an elevator (in case the Senate president is disabled).
