The fourth Jurassic Park film, produced by Steven Spielberg, grossed more than $511million worldwide the weekend of June 12th through 14th, according to movie tracking website Rentrack.
Jurassic World's global success was buoyed by a strong showing in the US, where it grossed more than $204million.
The franchise's newest $150million-budget installment sees the island from the original movie, based on a novel by Michael Crichton, finally open as a theme park that is forced to put up an exhibit with a dangerous new beast.
The film's domestic showing earned roughly $60million more than it was expected to.
As of now not yet broken a record for best opening weekend in the US, which is held by 2012's The Avengers with $207million.
Its estimated $307million in international sales is also thought to have barely missed the mark set by the final Harry Potter film, $312million.
